Heat and AC are controlled by the upstairs unit, however, the registered can easily be opened or closed to decide how much airflow you want and you can regulate the temp nicely that way.
Since this is a basement, there could be guests in the upstairs unit at the same time as your stay. Please follow the quiet hour's rules between the hours of 10 pm to 8 am.
