As the sixth largest city in the state of Kansas, Lawrence is one of the most well known college towns in the United States. Lawrence is located in northeastern Kansas and is situated along the banks of the Kansas and Wakarusa Rivers. Lawrence is a college town and a great place to find ample off campus student housing.

In 2011, Lawrence was named one of America’s 10 best college towns by Parents & College and in 2005, Rolling Stones named Lawrence one of the “best lil’ college towns” in the country. These accomplishments make Lawrence the perfect place for students to live and learn!

Students can live near and visit locations such as The Watkins Community Museum (which is located a block north of South Park), locally owned bar and music venue The Replay Lounge (which was named one of Esquire magazine’s top 25 bars/venues in the country in 2007), and South Park (a large park in Downtown Lawrence).

Lawrence is home to three colleges and university. The most well known of the universities is the The University of Kansas. The university is the largest public university in the state with a total enrollment of just more than 30,000 students. It has more than 170 fields of study and are nationally known for the Kansas Jayhawks athletic programs.
