As the second largest city in the state, Eugene, Oregon, is a terrific college town with fun and funky apartment complexes throughout the region. Eugene’sMarket and weekly Lane County Farmer’s Market in downtown make finding fresh, locally grown food easy for students to prepare in their cozy student housing. Students will also be inspired by Eugene’s museums, such as the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Oregon Air and Space Museum. Additionally, the University of Oregon houses the state’s largest library, Knight Library.
Other cultural opportunities for students in Eugene include the Eugene symphony, the Eugene Ballet, the Eugene Opera, and free Shakespeare in the park. Heading outdoors, students can enjoy many hiking and biking trails easily accessible from apartment complexes around Eugene.
Many University of Oregon students spend their weekends cheering for the esteemed Ducks football team. Other well-regarded higher education institutions include Northwest Christian University, Lane Community College, New Hope Christian College, Gutenberg College, and Pacific University’s Eugene campus.
