I reported a light out by the hallway outside my door on April 1, 2015 and it still hasn't been fixed. I never received my new lease I signed either. I have been living at Preston Valley Apartments located at 5631 Spring Valley Rd, Dallas, TX 75254 since July 17, 2012 and ever since the previous Management left the end of 2013, I have had nothing but dissatisfaction from new management. I currently have a light outside my door out since April 1, 2015 which still hasn't been fixed. This causes me to not see when going up the stairs or my surroundings around my door. I just got my sink disposal fixed 3 days ago which was broken and reported 1 month ago. I had several problems before this where my electricity in my kitchen would go out several times a week in 2014 causing my food in my refrigerator to spoil. The Engineer actually told me "I can't help everyone so you will just have to deal with it!". I use to get 12-15 month leases but I decided to get a 6 month this year as currently Management always tells me they will get things done but never does. We use to have a safety meeting monthly and they stop that and there are a few code violations where windows are broken, water roof drains are missing. In an apartment of more than 300 residents they only have 10 visitor parking spots TOTAL. I have had times where Management was not available during business hours and also where the office was closed early as well. I will never forget the day one of the Managers actually said to me "Why would you want to stay here for 15 months?!!" when I was first requesting a 15 month lease instead of a 6 month one. Being in the News Media Industry I read several articles and write a few on proper management and customer service from various agencies and corporations to keep revenue and customer loyalty. I can say without a doubt that the Management here clearly has no idea what the definition of EFFECIENCY, EFFECTIVENESS, and FOLLOW UP means. For me and my residents to sign a lease and never receive a copy of one after 3 weeks is totally unacceptable. I have also had many occasions where I paid the same amount of money to Management and was told I was short on my bill without any proof to show it, just a letter stating to pay the difference. How could this occur if I am paying the same amount every time? Yesterday, I went into the office to try to get a resident removed off the lease and Management didn’t even have the proper paperwork on hand to give me to handle the situation. How organized are they if they don't even have the forms for residents and still never gave me my lease agreement and didn't even know my light isn’t fixed yet after 3 weeks? I am more than happy to move out after 6 months to a better apartment that has higher rent as pay doesn't matter to me..."QUALITY OF SERVICE" DOES!. I have seen times where engineers are lodging around doing nothing and eating and drinking on the job in public. What kind of image is this company trying to display? I just wanted to make sure to file a proper complaint as clearly something needs to be done so that hopefully Management doesn't continue to do this to others and still gain revenue from new residents unaware of the unprofessionalism they will receive before signing a new lease. Anywhere else if this occurred, those managers would have been terminated without question. I wonder if the the Parent Company of this apartment complex has done an audit lately as I am sure they might be surprised of their findings if they do. I thank you for your time in allowing me to write this and hope that this may prevent others from falling into the same bad experience I had by staying here. I miss the previous management as they actually greeted me by my name making me feel special and handled my requests within 72 hours if not sooner. What has happened to corporate America? REALLY!!!
